A New Year, A New Decade, A New Site Platform

If you are reading this, you no doubt have noticed the new look for THE STONEBRIDGE.  I began this on-line thing four years ago.  In some ways I feel just as awkward and vulnerable as I described in my first post.

At that time, I knew nothing about managing a website, but embarked on the learning journey anyway.  I followed the process outlined by Micheal Hyatt from his BLOG.

I wanted a place to:

  • preserve stories about my ancestors so that extended family could easily access, comment and add to them.
  • document stories about our Historic home and the families that lived here, so that the descendants of those families can partake of their family story that emerged from Maison Steinbuchel.
  • share stories about my time as an air traffic controller, that otherwise would be lost in the mystery of control towers and dark radar rooms,
  • talk about the joy and realities of being a private pilot, aircraft owner and builder.  In the process,  I might inspire others to take to the skies.

I also wanted a place to tell the story of the found objects and materials I give new life to.  Objects and materials gleaned from the historic homes we are restoring.  Objects that are looking for a new home.  Click here to go to my online store.

So I took a leap, a big leap it turns out, and engaged a multi-site platform.  I started this last July.  I know, from what you see, it looks pretty plain and simple, but there is much more room to grow on this site than in my last location on the world wide web.

So, here we are, a new year, a new decade and a new place in cyber-space.  Any glitches you come across, or pages still under construction, I ask for patience.  There is a lot more to come.

Happy 2020!  Happy New Decade!
