Eighty Years Around The World With Mission Aviation Fellowship

“Whatever the changes might be, I want the generations who come after us to be thankful for the work that we are striving hard to get right and to see that we were dependent on the Lord and sought His leading. ” – David Holsten, President and CEO, Mission Aviation Fellowship, US

2025 marks eighty years since Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) has been serving isolated people around the world.  I have been a supporter of MAF since the early 90s and a Ministry Advocate for eight years.  The opportunity to represent this organization, to be a voice, is a privilege beyond words.

The Kodiak by Quest Aviation can take off in 800ft with 7,500 lbs gross weight was developed specifically for the unique needs of mission aviation

I’ve written several BLOGS about my travels and work with MAF.  Read here!

It is personally gratifying to use my aviation experience to support and serve as a part of MAF’s mission around the world. I enjoyed:

  • serving the flying public as an air traffic controller.
  • building and flying airplanes.

I really enjoy serving MAF with the skills and knowledge I have acquired.

This week, I am at MAF Headquarters attending a gathering of supporters, career staff, and other advocates.  I am looking forward to it.

MAF is masterful at capturing stories.  I get emails almost daily with a new wonderful story from somewhere in the world.  Stories of :

  • Lives saved through medical evacuation, healthcare, and education
  • A language converted to written form
  • Bibles translated into that new “heart language”
  • People learning to read that new language – seeing what they say in the written words
